I went to book the Cabins this AM, I need 4 other peoples names, phone numbers, and Mailing Address to give them to reserve the Cabins. I can still put them all on my Credit Card so I need some Volunteers..... My Brother Suggested a better trail to use but its already all booked up so I want to do this Tomorrow AM... Ok Cabins 5,6,7,8,9 in Redhouse Section Summit trail June 14 7 15th leaving the 16th. Those of us who put there names up have to be there to sign in before 9 AM on Friday so it might be a good Idea for all of us to Spend Thursday night at my Hunting Cabin outside the park so we can get there early on Friday Morning. Thatway everyone else can trickle in as they arrive.

If someone wants to bring a Pet they can they just need to bring their rabbies certificates.

This is a rather late entry, but I'm in. I just need a flat spot for my tent.

So I assume this camping thing runs in place of session? Will you lose XP for not being at session then? I have developed some annoying allergies in my old age and hate camping. I need my tech. Haha.

Cant see why you would loose exp for not being there. However don't think you'll gain any since your not at the session.

I'll make an effort to be there (Saturday probably?), but a 3 hour round trip is a bit of a commitment for an evening's activity to me.

I'm planning on tent camping. Because it's a State Park and not, say a State Forest, camping is at approved sites only. The closest sites are the Redhouse Tent/Trailer area, about four miles away and 700' lower in elevation. OTOH, there are nice hardball roads connecting the two for those that don't feel like walking or biking.

OK, I have reserved a single site. Iggy and I (Nathan H.) will be using it. Is anyone else going to be tent camping?

How much is it to reserve such a site, etc?

For folks tent camping, remember, on top of your tent fee (which shouldn't be much) there is a $10 fee if you're coming for one day and $15 for both, which will go to deferring event costs, this is already wrapped into the $45 that the camping folks are paying. We still have a few cabin spots left if you like community and beds.

Different sites have different prices, but it seemed to be between $19 and $26 per night. But if you reserve online, you can use code "EARLYCAMP13P" to knock $5/day off that. This is the park reservation system page.

Ok I dug up more information our Cabins should be the Newer Three Room Cabins as we are at the Summit Trail. We have Electricity, Refrerigerators, and centraly located flush toilets and Showers. I planned to have a Load of Fire Wood Delivered Friday at the Cabins as it is illegal to bring your own. There have been some nasty Oriental Beatle problems and they dont want people bringing them into the park with there fire wood so you simply pay a reasonable rate to have it delivered.

Mongoose' Pack is organizing our food and a couple of meals for the ST [Blatant Bribe] and for a few people comming froum out of town. But other people should worry about what they are eating++++++++++++++++++++++++++

There are some cabins that have 1 room plus a kitchenette in them. These are the cabins on Sugarbush and Congdon Trails. Newer 3 room cabins in the Red House area are located at: all of Summit Trail, Anderson Trail #'s 1, 1A, 7, 15, 16, all of MacIntosh Trail (except those mentioned above). All of Beehunter Trail (except for the #'s mentioned above) Red House Cabin Area Notes

Red House Cabin Styles: The Red House area of Allegany has, for the most part, newer cabins. Many of these cabins have more than 1 room, although some of the traditional 1 room, 16'x16, "Quaker Style" cabins still exist in the Red House Area. These traditional 1 room cabins are: MacIntosh #'s 1, 3, 5, 20 (2 rooms), 22, 26: Anderson #'s 2, 5, 6, 8 through 14 and 17: Beehunter #'s 6, 7, 31, 32 (2 rooms), 33, 34.
are even larger 3 room cottages. There are also older large 4 room cabins with fireplaces on Ryan Trail.

Electricity: The only cabins in the Red House area of the park that do not have electrical power or refrigerators are MacIntosh #'s 1, 3, 5, 20, 22, and 26.

Flush Toilets and Showers: With the exception of the Ryan Cabins, all Cabin Trails in the Red House area have centrally located flush toilets and showers. Ryan Trail has pit toilets, and no shower. Flush toilets are also available in both the Red House and Beehunter Picnic Areas, the Red House Bathhouse, and the Red House Administration Building.

I drove through our site this weekend. Our spot is really primo.. I think we'll run quite a bit behind the cabins, there's a great view of the hills back there. Also, no cabin is more than a hundred feet from the bathroom/showers, its basically right next to us. Another nice perk.

I checked in with Registration and Sign in to get the keys for the Cabins is 3 PM not 9 AM like the California person informed me.
So with that In Mind when and what do the people who gave me there names want to do. We can still spend the night at my Cabin Thursday and then go up to the Park leisurely in the afternoon. Or just drive down directly since we dont have to be there so early in the AM ???

Not as of yet. Sorry, as someone who has taken to his cyberware, I keep forgetting not everybody has been subsumed by the hivemind yet.

Take 219 South until you get to Allegany State Park. Take ASP 1 to the Summit Camping Area (see map attached), meet up at Cabin #9.

For folks who need to be there to sign into the Cabins, keep going down ASP 1 to the Administration Building and stop at the desk to pick up keys.

Basically Stay on 219 the expressway till it ends just south of Springville follow the Signs to get from the new end of the expressway back onto the smaller road thru Ashford Hollow [Warning Speed Traps] till you get to Ellicotville. Continue thru Ellicotville follow the Signs into Salamanca.

You Will Cross the Allegheny River as you get into Salamanca Proper you shouldnt be able to miss it is a real river. Once you cross the Bridge you are looking for a Quick Turn to your left look for the Signs leading to Route 17/81 Exit. The Road you are on continue up over the mountain and Becomes ASP1 see attatched maps.

Ok... Now comes the part to discuss....
Car Pooling - We have Parking for 5 Cabins so 10 Vehicles at the Cabins any others cannot park at the Cabins so We will Want to Car Pool as much as Possible.
Next-
Things you absolutely should Bring - I have checked the weather its predicted for intermitant rain about every other day between now and Next Friday. Next Friday Dry Saturday Dry Chance of Rain - Temp Mid to Low 70's perfect. But its going to be muddy I dont thing the Ground is going to dry out alot between now and then. So you should have.
1 Good Pair Of Boots, Insect Repelant, Extra Socks and Extra Change of Cloths, Shower Gear and Towel.
Food, Pans to Cook it in and Beverages - My Pack and ST are working on our Food Plan.
OH... Hmmm I dont think I have my Midland First Aid Kit anymore does anyone have one...

I'd love to carpool, but there's absolutely no way I can be there at 3 or even close to it. Randy will be riding down with me, and I'd be willing to take anyone else who's willing to meet us at around 4 on Friday, but if there's no room to park when we get there, I have no idea what we're supposed to do.

Well Ben Your Name and Address is on one of the Cabins so I dont think we get the keys to the Cabin until you get here and sign in for it.

Do we need to bring bedding of any sort? How furnished are the cabins in that regard?

Hmmm Pillows, sheets, sleeping bag yes... there are I believe 4 Beds in each cabin if you have an air matress you might want to bring it.... or a roll out matress.
