Wishbone climbs into the passenger seat of one of the cars, still in Lupus. Well, he looks enough like a dog to pass, at least.

*climbs in behind the wheel on one vehicle* I'm not used to fancy drivin', so hopefully no one tries to run us off the road. If anyone's got drivin' skillz, nows the time to speak.

*once everyone is packed in, Patch uses his GPS to help lead the small convoy down to Zoar Valley*

The drive is without incident, and the gang arrives at the eastern edge of the park around ten in the morning on a brisk and beautiful February day.

*trying to park where the cars will not draw attention- lot? roadside pulloff? Climbs out and stretches*

So- *looks to Wishbone* Unless someone knows this place better than you, I think we might need you to lead as you know the most about what's happened.

:: gets out and shakes her fur, and waits for Wishbone to lead since he knows the terrian ::

"Yeah, I know the game trails throughout Zoar Valley inside and out. Where's our first stop, I'll lead."

Wishbone is silent for several moments after emerging from the car. Is this the first time he's been back since his best friend vanished into the cavern of the Guardian?

He closes his eyes, catching the scent of the breeze, both physical and spiritual.

*Robert is Seen Lifting a piece of duct tape up from the seat and putting the car keys into a hole within the truck seat he pats down the duct tape & closes the doors*

*Robert Walks over to Wishbone and goes to one knee*

"Those who can't hide themselves better be on two legs, or at least be able to pass as a dog. Our goal isn't speed, it's accuracy and not making every person in this park think to call the rangers before we've gone a mile in will help with that."

::trots in Lupus next to MarkWalker, clearly choosing to stay in Lupus given her puppy face merit::

So saying, he stands and trots off in that direction. Given his limping gait, it's not difficult to keep up with him.

"Wishbone, if we cut through these trees, there is a path a little way down that will keep us out of sight of any of the larger trails on our way to the gate."

((Brian, I know these trails. I'll keep us out of any of the more likely paths of visitors to the par to reduce random encounters.))

((The Gate first apparently, then the old Caern, then the old kinfolk hunting grounds, which will probably be most of the park.))

The hike to the Gateway is pleasant. A few sprigs of plants have begin to push their way through the light and rapidly dispersing snow pack and the bright and clean smell of pines refreshes and invigorates. In the mundane world, the gateway appears as a featureless and snowless clearing in the central pine woods.

Bonny this place be Not as Grand as the Highlands But Bonny none the less *Robert will Look around enjoying the Smells of the land before him and enjoying the view and the sounds of the place*

*Lillian closes her eyes for a second and smiles.*

I have a good feeling about this.

:: Guards the Home sniffs the air, enjoying it. But remains focused trying to watch for things jumping out at them::

*Patch removes something electronic from his bag as the hike begins. It is shaped like an upper-case H with a lens on each arm, appearing much like a pair of binoculars with attachments. It appears to have pieces of other objects grafted onto it however, and none of the other pieces match. something that looks like a small tape deck is attached to one side, while banks of wires protrude from it and feed into the H shaped casing on the other side. As he holds it up to his eyes and his fingers adjust the "binoculars" focus. A soft whirring can be heard from the device, and the lenses appear to telescope in and out as he adjusts the focus wheel. He regularly, though not constantly, scans all 360 degrees with the device, sky to ground level.*

Patch? what the hell is that thing suppose to be?

Binoculars spliced with a video recorder. I used a bunch of parts I had in my closet. Never really throw anything out, just repurpose it. It lets me see further like binoculars, and I can record everything I get with them. When my skills get better I'll put in other sensor devices and then maybe learn to "see" through it the way some in our tribe have learned from spirits.

*pauses a moment and adds with a grin* you don't get rich by spending money. and you don't save Gaia by wasting parts that still have use.

I saw a device like that at a hunting supply store its Binoculars linked to a Digital Camera that can take picture or short amounts of video more if you spent for extra memory !?!

OOC: I you want I can bring mine to the next game someone got it for me for christmas like 2 years ago ????

((very cool that they actually exist. I'd love to see it, though it is not necessary. :-) I'm just making stuff up to illustrate that Patch reuses everything until it is completely non-functional. Jury-rigged tech and tools, etc. The only things "professionally made" are his clothes))

Wishbone nods in approval at Patch's comment about reusing things that still have value, but his attention remains on the surroundings.

So how long has it been since this place has been used? How did this place fall before? How many packs can it hold?

Seven packs, only four stayed in the valley, the other three wandered a bit wider out.

Not bad . . . so maybe 50 to 100 total . . . not as many as we'd like, but definitely a move in the right direction.
