in vampire under rare occasion a caitiff can find his origin and be acknowledged by his clan aka a a catiff could become a brujah in name at least, is the same true about bonegnawers? could an outcast from one tribe go back after gaining power and status no one though he could? just a theoretical question that came to mind.

It's not impossible for a tribe to adopt members. The Bone Gnawers and CoGs do it all the time. It's just that most of the other tribes wouldn't, barring amazingly unusual circumstances. The Silver Fangs, Shadow Lords, and Get all have a big thing about bloodline purity, and would be VERY unlikely to accept a "mongrel." The Black Furies might accept a really badass female Gnawer who was dedicated to their ideals. The Uktena...well, who knows WHY they do the things they do? They might accept a Gnawer. The Wendigo? Probably not--a Wyrmcomer is a Wyrmcomer.

The Fianna would just get the Gnawer drunk and then cover him in tattoos.

hey im just curious due to some stuff in sabbot, a catiff getting a clan possibly i thought bone gnawer = catiff maybe i have no idea.... i love my tribe and have no intention of leaving or bringing someone in, remember get are racist sons of bitches

I understand but no Cattif are without Clan.... Bone Gnawers are the Lowest form of a Clan they have a Tribal Totem one they share with Rat Kin

So there isnt really a comparisson between the two. A Catiff can join a clan if he can find sponsorship and if he is willing to accept the likely blood bond cost.

A Bonegnawer is a Bonegnawer either thru Birth or Circumstance. Its easier to fall down the Social Ladder of the Garou World then it is to climb up it. Its not impossible to climb up it but it is not without costs.

As an example the Bonegnawers accept Metis much more readily then do many of the other tribes. Some Tribes Kill them at birth or leave them exposed outside the Caern where either Gaia claims them back or the Local Bone Gnawer Ragabash steals them off to raise as a Bone Gnawer or maybe the Child of Gaia take mercy upon the pup and they rescue the babe.

Lets use the Get as an Example ..... They left the Metis out to be Judged by Gaia. The Gnawers rescued the pup raised it and brought it into their tribe.

Now 25 years later the Metis has proven himself to be so Great a Warrior that Fenris recognizes him as one of his Children and is willing to bring him back into his Tribe. So what you have is a conflict between to Totem both of War. Fenris is poaching one of Rats Children... If the Great Warrior wants to go back to Fenris now he has really angered Rat and probably receives a Curse.

Next our new Get probably has to prove himself to the people who cast him out maybe by walking the gauntlet while they try to kill him.... If he can succeed well heck let him in.... But honestly it aint going to be easy and Rat never Forgets or Forgives

Yes. Changing Tribe/Auspice is definitely possible. Not easy, but possible.

Throwing this out there...

Almost everything in the game is mercurial... who can get what powers, what you can be, etc... there's not a lot of crunch on the subject, but anythings possible.

Now, that said, BIG changes like Auspice or Tribe SHOULD be VERY difficult indeed... but to put in perspective... you can just change your mind about the black spiral and walk through erebus..... it's UNLIKELY, but it CAN happen.

Its supposedly a Mythical Place even to Garou.... Guarded by Cerebus the Three Headed Hound. It is a place of dark gaves filled with flowing rivers of Silver its the pure definition of a bad place to be if your a Garou.

Or... its a place where those who have been corrupted but seek redemption go to be purified in the Rivers and Lakes of Molten Silver *Insert Owch... the stinging*

I think even Malfeas has a longer life expectancy...

Well Malfeas is where heroes go to die..... but it does have one major advantage over erebus.... The Malfean Realm isn't mythical, heck, it's not even hard to find.... one could say it's almost intentionally easy to get to..... odd right?

Except for that unfortunate catch where it is impossible to leave without the consent of a servant of the Wyrm.

By the time i am done, they will be begging me to leave.
