Just a Reminder re: Complaints.
This is something that is going to be somewhat obviated moving forward, but locally will continue to matter.
Not a lot of complaints have happened in our game concerning things outside the gamestate, certainly nothing major. Occassionally people will hear things and be concerned about sources and things like that.
I'd just like to put a reminder out there:
We do not do silence. We do not do "anonymity". We do not do "player reps".
If you have a problem with a player, a scene, or whatever; A ruling, a power use, or the actions of another person IC or OOC you come to the Staff and we all sit down and talk about it; That is our policy.
Now.... that said..... we usually don't want to derail the scene or session to deal with minor issues, but if anything of significance were ever to happen - if any criminal activity were afoot, or even just really distasteful activity is going on - you come to us, we scoop up everyone involved and we DEAL with the problem.
Not every game believes in that. Some players feel like - and this is a local gaming culture problem - that their ST is like their Priest or their Shrink and they want everything said to them to be kept in the highest of confidence. That will not happen. It is deleterious to the social fabric of our community.
The upshot is this: No one will ever be able to say your problem was not dealt with (promptly) or that anything was ever swept under the rug. We posted something on this a long time ago, I just - because of some recent posts (on other game boards) wanted to remind our player base that we're adults and adults deal with their problems in an open and active manner.
Just wanted to re-up the institutional memory on this issue, because it's well trod ground. I don't care if it's as minor as "How did that character know about ___?" and we have to sit down and find out "X totem sold you out for Y chimenage." It might lose some mystery to the players... but it's better than everyone whispering to their friends that such and such is cheating or metagames. And if it is major, if someone shoves you or does anything out of line with SARPA, SA, UB, SUNY or NY rules we will get the ball rolling. The end. It's as simple as that.
I don't feel like ruining the relationship between our game and SARPA/UB because someone - for example - messes with the lockwood library lounge microwave, and I sure as hell am not going to endanger that for ANY malfeasance of any variety. We play in a State institution or on Municipal/State grounds when we're at Parks. If there is any question as to how to comport yourself, ask us or refer to the rules provided by the municipalities or institutions in question.
Ignorance is no excuse to the law and silence is unacceptable.
I hope I've made myself abundantly clear.

Yes. Don't expect anonymity from us, do expect us to be direct and punch the issue in the dick till it dies from it.
