Call of the Wyld (Basic Galliard] : A single target can only be affected (for good or ill), by a single Call of the Wyld from a single source. Stacking can occur, but only with multiple Galliards.

I'm putting this in place for now pending further staff discussion. While Light's Out's use of this power last night was quite spectacular, it clearly isn't in line with other basic gifts (And a 2 Trait swing is plenty good on its own).

We were using the wrong version of Call of the Wyld, Brian. The revised rules text for Call of the Wyld is balanced. Here:

Call of the Wyld: Your natural aptitude for communicating with howls becomes greatly magnified. A Call of the Wyld can stir other Garou to fresh energy, even those beyond the normal range of hearing. Galliards regularly use this Gift at the beginning of revels and other pack and sept activities and to call for aid in trouble. Make a Physical Challenge. If successful, the remarkable call goes out. A single success carries it to all Garou within twice normal hearing range. Spending an additional Physical Trait provides the following bonus - those Garou who hear the call gain a one-Trait bonus to the next challenge they take part in as members of the pack or sept (that is, to group efforts, not individual ones). Spend two additional Physical Traitsto impose a one-Trait penalty on all combat-related challenges that the hearing Garou’s opponents engage in for the rest of that scene.

So it's actually a ONE-trait swing for one round at the cost of one physical trait, or a ONE-trait swing for one scene for the cost of TWO physical traits, or both (a TWO-trait swing for one round followed thereafter by a ONE-trait swing) for THREE physical traits. Way more in line with other basic gifts, certainly equivalent in power to Distractions, the other basic Galliard debuff. Especially as that debuff can back lone agents, this one can only impact a group effort and can't help a Galliard caught alone.

Yeah, it's expensive. I assumed it was being run correctly at the scene and still got cartoonishly busted. *sigh*, I'll make sure Bucky was charging him correctly. Smile

It's not just that he was paying 1/3 the physical traits he was supposed to, we also thought the +1 traits lasted a whole scene, rather than a single challenge. There probably was a lot more overbidding happening than would have happened had we checked it in the book.

Yeah, that makes a lot more sense. Total breakdown by everyone in the room forgetting how a power worked. *laugh*, okay, no house rule required, just need to run by the, you know, actual rules.

Question on Crafting Rules:

In one section, it says you can add mutliple different special qualities as long as the same one doesn't appear multiple times on the item. In a later section, it says you can only add one special quality. Which is correct?
