PNym's Workshop, 9/7 4am

::pnym scuttles about, waiting for those he invited to show, pouring over texts, schematics, computer screens, etc::

::Watches Pnym through heavy lidded eyes.:: We need a pack cleansing.

No doubt, no doubt. Call up the kids, get 'em over here. We'll do it in the prep sink in the kitchen.

About an hour after Pnym's text is sent, there comes a knocking at his door. A certain young Silver Fang apparently seeks entry.

::the interior door buzzes as the lock disengages. PNym is surrounded by tables covered in computers and notebooks. The incomplete weapons and armor usually on this table have been knocked to the floor.::

Excellent, the galliard, did you bring 'Bone?

Hearing the car, Mischa smiles.

"That'd most likely be him there. So, how did you end up talking with The Gestalt while we were off at the meeting he arranged, Pnym? I feel like there must be a story there."

I ended up meeting with a bunch of leeches, on the phone and in person, a lot of weird things happened, but they will only matter if someone survives to tell the tale. 

Go let him in, and call someone at the caern. There was a device, a piece of tech crafted by the leeches, I don't know what happened to it or who has it, but I need it brought here very soon.

Wishbone is, indeed, in the truck.  He enters, looking oddly subdued.

Mischa raises an eyebrow and shakes his head.

"I don't think so. I think we need to know what you know first, and then we'll do as you've asked. You've openly admitted to dealing with a bunch of leeches completely outside of the Council's knowledge, let alone approval. While I'm not a Philodox, and I'm sure it's debatable, that sounds an awful lot like breaking the Litany to me. You know, the bit about fighting the Wyrm where it dwells? Not to mention failing to show proper deference to those above you."

He pauses just long enough to let the words sink in, and then continues.

"Now, I'm not saying I don't think you had your reasons - I'd bet my life that you did. You are no traitor. However, we need to know them to establish the credibility of our source. In researching a story, the most important aspect is checking your sources, and seeking information relating to determining their credibility as a source is paramount to that. Before I do anything for you or encourage anyone else to do so, I for one want to hear the whole story."

I am an Adren of the nation, I was working under the orders of the Sept Alpha. I have already paid my dues and suffered for these misadventures 

::scuttles out from behind his work table on cockroach legs, you may or may not remember PNym as being completely legless, much like that stretch of the 90 between Rochester and Buffalo having never been completed::

It is a little too much to go into right now before I get some hot cleansing action. Now if you could make that phone call for me it would be greatly appreciated.

::turns to wishbone::

The Gestalt mentioned that redoing the binding ritual is out if the question, but dumping the eater of cities in some far off realm might be doable, if a certain galliard find's what is left of the Circe Engine.

Mischa looks pointedly at Pnym's cockroach legs and shakes his head again.

"Look, Pnym, I like you, so I'm going to try one more time to explain this to you. Right now, I'm not convinced you aren't the enemy. You suddenly look like some sort of Wyrm creature, you are talking about associating with Wyrm creatures, and taking their advice at face value. As I said before, I'm sure you have reasons for this, and hell, they're probably good ones, but I will not place this Sept in danger by simply taking it on faith that you do."

He shrugs, drawing his mouth into a thin line to show he is serious.

"Either take the time to tell your story now, or I will be forced to work with my current assumption, which is that the Destroyer or his agents have turned you to feed us false information, and not only will I not help you, I'll do everything in my power to stop you from completing your goals. Or you can take the ten minutes right now to fill Wishbone and I in on what is really going on."

"I know where the engine is.  I was the one who put it there.  If it's the Alpha's order that it be brought here, then it will be done...but sending it to another realm?  How is that in keeping with the Litany?  It seems like simply pawning off our problems on others.  Which realm are we talking about?"

Mischa nods at Wishbone's words.

"There are many questions that must be answered before any action is taken here. Best get comfortable, gentlemen. Mr. Pnym, the floor is yours."

He looks around for somewhere comfortable to sit down.

::Malaki seems as neutral, cold, and utterly uncaring as ever. However, even he snorts eventually at the posturing::

My Alpha is under no compunction to explain himself to you, this is a courtsey - the Sept Alpha was there. ::he pats his pockets, looking for something::

We attempted to destroy the leech threat. They escaped. PNym is ready to be cleansed. We don't have time to waste. ::his fishes out a smoke from a soft pack and lights up:: We fight the Wyrm wherever it is, we just.... delayed an hour to get information. Then we fought the Wyrm. ::he shrugs::

"Information is what we sorely need.  We were sitting out in the park hoping to get that same information.  If it's the Alpha's order that the Engine be brought out, then it will be.  I can't do it on less authorization than that; there are risks to the Sept involved.  But please, tell us what you learned.  WHICH realm are we proposing, and how?"

The silver fang nods once in Wishbone's direction, clearly standing with him in full.

Unless set on silent or turned off, Mr. Pnym's phone rings.

One. The ancient one is loose. things are afoot. I'm pretty sure you know that.


Two. The Gestalt seems to think that he has had a break through on how to get rid if it. He is also oddly at ease with his inevitable death at our hands, he would prefer to stop the larger threat first though


Two and a half. The gestalt mentioned that Mischa may have interesting stories that I should hear surround this, so that's a thing.


Three. I have no clue about Umbral realms that's one if the many things that will have to be discussed quickly, because our time is short.

Four. Hostile Takeover returned from his business abroad to deliver orders and get some shit done. During this we attempted to remove a vampire threat that was in league with Pentex, we failed. We didn't plan enough or go with enough force to complete the job.

Five Weird shit is happening and a shit ton of planning has to be done, so if my dick is big enough let's get to some action.

::picks up his phone::

::Malaki grumbles, then looks at Wishbone::

That's the long and short of it. If you need the Sept Alpha's go ahead to back the play... call him.

I know a thing or five about the realms. ::he seems almost hesitant to speak more:: The clear choices I can see are The Dark Umbra or the Scar...

THe atrocity realm.... ::he shrugs:: too permeable. I think.

I wouldn't back a play that put this thing in anything else. Except maybe the Fimbelwinter. That's where shit goes to die. But if it's going to be done right, that's a one way trip for a lot of Garou.

::speaking into the phone::

Oh no I gotcha, I think we took care of that so you should be off the hook. I for one look forward to seeing you die to prevent the utter destruction of the area. Should be glorious, I'll text you with details when I know more.

B T dubs, do you know anything about ritual magic or the ancient history of the region?

::rolls his eyes at those in the room::

Mischa pipes up.

"I actually know a LOT about the ancient history of the region..."

::puts his hand over the phone::

Huh, oh yeah I assumed that. 

::goes back to the phone call::

Wishbone waits for the call to be finished.

Mischa taps his foot impatiently as the Metis takes a phone call in the middle of an important meeting. It is clear from his posture and expression that he considers this utterly rude, but is too polite to say so.

If you don't think that death fighting a great evil is a glorious end that is all on you. I wish that kind of death for everyone, I just rarely have time to say it out loud. 


We attempted to kill that guy, it didn't work. We may try again in the future, we'll see how that works out. I can't promise anything about disposal, you know how that is.


I'm not all that up on that kinda stuff, but G thinks it useful.

Sorry guys, scheduling the apocalypse is rough.

Wishbone holds up a hand.

"Okay.  So: you want the Circe Engine.  I can make that happen.  It'll take a phonecall to the Alpha, because he has to countermand a previous Alpha's unconditional order, but I can make that happen.  But before I do, we need to know exactly what we're going to DO with it.  How do we use it to send the Destroyer away?  How do we choose where we're sending it?  And how do we make sure we're not just handing a weapon to the hordes of Malfeas, or wherever we send it?"

"Hell, if I could be sure of its weakness, I'd suggest sending it to Helios, but all we've got is the fact that it was a leech once, and that it only seems to come out at night, so far."  He pauses to think.  "Actually...we can also be pretty damned sure that the LAST big battle against Oshagonondagie was fought at night.  Broken Sword was there, and in the realm of legends, he was already a vampire before that battle."

I'm no Theurge, I'm here for the technical side of Circe engine repair and because I am more likely to have spoken with leeches. 

Did I mention that I thnk the ratkin are working the other side of the problem and that Memory is dead?

It would probably do a world of good for the theurges to all sit down and discuss ramifications of planar travel of a being that can unravel the weaver's webs.

::picks up his phone and starts dialing::

"No, in fact you didn't.  And that's kinda the problem, P'nym.  We need to know this stuff.  I know the Ratkin are working the other side of the problem.  I didn't know Memory was dead, and that's pretty frigging critical.  Now can you stop and take five minutes to tell us what the hell is going on?  Because right now, as far as I can tell, we don't actually have a plan.  As for the Engine, like I said, the Alpha is going to have to give the order to move it, because he's going to have to countermand a previous Alpha's standing order NOT to move it."

::sets down the ringing phone::

I'm just trying to spread out some info, I'd like to be able to plan stuff out, but I think we're all a little out of our depths with this ancient evil BS. I'm especially out of my depths when it comes to rituals and realms and all that.

"So who's supposed to actually make this work, P'nym?  You want the Circe Engine brought here, and then what?  How are we going to use it?  WHO is going to use it?  Who's going to make the decision on where to send it?  If you don't know any of those answers, then who does?  Or are we just going to tinker with it and hope for the best?  I'm a little bit concerned when the answer seems to be "Oh, that's a problem for the theurges," and I'm in charge of the theurges, and I have no idea what you want us to do."

"What is the plan, and whose plan is it?"

who is going to make it work? right now I'm going to assume that everyone in the sept will end up pitching in.

What to do with the Circe engine? I don't know what can be done with it until I take a look at its insides.

WHO is going to use it?  My assumption here is a circle of varied supernatural type peoples. You, the gestalt, a faerie, etc....


Who's going to make the decision on where to send it? The sept's theurges.


Who's plan is it? I assumed that you had some discussions with the Gestalt on this matter, have you not? He made it seem like you had discussed it and that now we were down to the nuts and bolts of how to make it happen. If I am wrong I apologize, i thought this was already in the works and we were just ironing out the details.

"Actually, I've never met this "Gestalt."  We were sent to meet with him.  We sat in a park for several hours before getting a phonecall saying that the meeting was off and we should come here to your house, and that you would fill us in.  And here you are with...legs...many of them...but apparently, you don't know too much more about it than we do.  Now do you see why we're just a little bit frustrated here?"

Mischa points his thumb at Wishbone, in a "what he said" gesture.

Huh. 

::scuttles around a nearby pile on the floor, picks up a helmet, fiddles worth the insides for a sec, and then puts it down next to his cell phone. It also sounds like it is ringing::

*Through the phone.*

"Hello Pnym, how are things going.?"

Little confused. I thought you had already run this plan past Wishbone and everything, was that not the case?

I have him here and I think I'm missing something in the telling. The plan as far as I know, is pretty much alter the Circe engine to work pretty much backwards as ritual people do rituals, and then this thing great evil is going to be evil some where else. That is the basic stuff right?

"Yah sorry I didn't make it to the Park.  I was not expecting a dozen other leeches to suddenly care about all this and get dragged all for whatever idiocy they have planned.  And some other things came up that required my attention."

"You have the right idea of it.  Here is the outline of the plan I have worked out.  First rework a Circe Engine to instead weaken the walls between dimensions."

"Combined that with the ritual HH tried to do to escape from reality to get way from Gehenna, the Apocalypses, or whatever the faeries call the end of the world.  While the ritual didn't work for him I improved his interesting but somewhat flawed methodology.  So with the help of the Engine I can create the hole HH failed to."

"From there we need a way to localize the effect on to Big O.  I have been working on moding another ritual, created by a hedge mage that utilized some of O's energy.  I have run into a few minor difficulties here, so any info you guys have on the rite used to bind him back in the day would be helpful."

"So we combined all of this and use it to throw Big O off into some nether dimension, where he floats through the void for all eternity never destroying another city."

Ok that makes sense to me...

Are you two on board for that or do you have something else you've been working on?

Mischa looks to Wishbone. It seems his cooperation depends on the Theurge's.

"That," Wishbone says slowly, "May be the most insane plan I've ever heard.  I can think of at least a hundred things that could go disastrously wrong with it."

He pauses.

"Unfortunately, at the moment, I don't have a better one."

"The problem is that there are too many unknowns.  You need to know about the ritual that was used to bind the Destroyer; of the three beings who would have had that knowledge, two are dead, and attempts to track the third have failed--which may mean he's dead, too.  I can tell you that it was a Nunnehi ritual of High Hat's devising, but that's really about all.  Chases Cars knew more, but was geased not to speak of it.  The Geas ended...but the Destroyer killed Chases Cars immediately afterwards."

Who is the third?

"Memory, the Gurahl.  I think you've met him.  I've been trying to find him since Chases Cars...well, since Chases Cars."

Yeah, well, um. I'm pretty sure memory was killed by a leech working with or for Pentex...so that probably won't work out well.

"Well it isn't all that difficult to get into communication with the dead."

::Malaki sighs softly, his speaks first as a mix between a grumble and a whisper:

“You live
under the Sign
of the Bear, who flounders through chaos
in his starry blubber:
poor fool,
poor forked branch
of applewood, you will feel all your bones break
over the holy waters you will never drink.”

::Then louder:: I'm no expert. But we, or they, don't die like you others. That's not how it works.... generally. You can't find what's not there. His spirit? Maybe.... .maybe... ::he grunts:: Don't know what happens to a bear when they go.....

::he shrugs:: I'm no expert.

Wishbone sits motionless, his eyes closed.  "I don't know," he admits, finally.  "Memory wasn't supposed to die.  I don't know what will become of his spirit." 

He opens his eyes.  "We are quickly running out of options.  Actually...we are out of options.  I don't expect us to win this fight.  But damned if I won't go down swinging."

He looks at the Gestalt.  "If you can't confine it to just Oshagonondagie, then we may have to take him along with whatever's around him."
